Bots

Bots, also known as AI, are tanks which are controlled by AI. They can spawn anywhere in the arena, even in team modes. Their names are colored light blue. They can be on teams when on any TDM mode. Each server, save the developer server, contains 20 bots, possibly to make the leaderboard full and/or for some extra challenge. They are always tagged with "[AI] " and can use a various amount of names. They will target anything that gets within their FoV, which can vary. Most bots will chase their target, then circle them at a certain distance, but when a bot is using a ramming build or is a lancer, it will try to ram its target instead. Bots will try to flee from their target when their HP is low (this HP can vary widely and depends on their tank and build) and they seem to have higher FoV when retreating.

Technical[]

Bots chooses a build from certain bullet builds(mostly glass build, and rumours say they have more than 42 skill points) when using a bullet tank, while having aimbot enabled and 360° movement like diep.io mobile players. Thus, they are considered a hard challenge, especially if the AI is a Builder upgrade. The exact build the bots use is written in the code, and are not visible to normal players. Bots retreat when they have lost a large amount of health. The health can be anywhere from about 80% to 0% (bots occasionally do not retreat even when they have a very small amount of health.)

Names[]

As stated above, bots pick their names from a massive pool of possible names, and are always tagged with "[AI] ". They can go from regular names to names that are often used on arras to names that might make no sense to even memes. Some names, such as Trans Rights, USA, and Bee/Honey Bee, can change the color or render the [AI] tag invisible.

the ai name "bent boomer is bad" forces the ai to play as bent boomer

Most of the known names have references in them.
- Some of the names, Such as Electrodynamix and ForeverBound, are references to another popular game called Geometry Dash.
- final destination, fox only is a reference to super smash bros melee
- The name "Tank A" and "mf=r" have references to the lore.
- A lot of others such as "Kim Jong-Un", "OwO", "666", “I forgor”, "Internet Explorer" and "Creeper, Aw Man" refer to memes.
- There is also a lot of names that are commonly used such as "team?", "read and u gay" or "Friend pls".
- The names "g.win" and "g.bit_less_reload, g.bit_less_reload, g.bit_less_reload", are references to the method used to balance the game called g.stats.
- The name "UWU OWO LMFAOOOOOO" is a short version of "UWU OWO LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUWU OWO LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUWU OWO LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO".
- Some names such as "NoCopyrightSounds", "FeZTivAL" or "Baller" are based off YouTubers.
- A few names are in a different language, such as "¡ZA WARUDO!" or "¿Equipo?".
Certain Bot names may have different colors.
- The names "Bee" and "Honey Bee" are both colored yellow.
- Any name that has "Fallen" in it will be colored light grey.
- If an AI's name is "Trans Rights", it'll be colored blue, pink, and white.
- if an AI's name is "U S A", it'll be colored red, blue, and white.
The MissingNo. and 4 4 Bots act much like the Smasher-branch bots and uses glitched Pokémon images as it's tank.
- As their normal bodies cannot be seen, it is hard to tell on which team they are on team modes unless they appear on the leaderboard.
If a bot is using a tank that needs to right click in order to fire the front barrel, such as the Eagle, they will not fire. Bots cannot right click.
- As such, AI tanks that can control their drones and auto-turrets cannot repel those either.
- However, in an unknown update, AIs with eagle thrustered tanks gained the ability to use their front barrels.
Along with bosses, bots get killed by maze walls when spawning in them.
Lancer-branch bots, except for Smasher-branch bots try to shoot their target instead of ramming. This was for balancing reasons. Lancer-branch bots most of the time try to shoot so they most of the time get killed by other bots, bosses, players. But after 10 April 2020 it now rams entities.
Injector and Atrophy tanks will behave like lancer tanks, but they cannot shoot bullets, despite constantly "firing". The bullet never spawns.
Bots always face their target. As such, Back Shield-branch tanks, with the exception of the Rotary Shield, Double-Defense, and Flak Cannon will not be able to use their shields effectively.
Bots that use the Rammer tank try to shoot, even though it is completely designed to be ramming tank.
Sometimes in Maze, cornering a bot in a dead end may result in the bot glitching through the maze walls. If the wall is thin enough (one wall layer thin), the bot may glitch back into the dead end while you are outside it, leading into frustration.
Some of the highest scores for a bot were:
- 1.16m as an Infantry, on 4TDM Maze in July 19, 2020.
- 1.12m as an Auto-Sprayer, on 4TDM Maze in July 19, 2020.
- 2.54m as an Ubercharge, in woomy.arras.cx world record sheets and it is the world record of the highest bot score in cx version.
Bots die automatically when an arena is closed and do not need an Arena Closer to kill.
- This is due to the Arena Closers' AI, as they won't be able to collide or shoot when nowhere near a player's FoV (only exception is the Arena Summoner).
